Having enjoyed horse riding from an early age, Helen chose to read Equine Science at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth following her A-levels. She had always had an interest in alternative therapies, and later successfully completed the two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Animal Manipulation (PGDipAM) from McTimoney College, validated by the University of Wales. The course is the only validated course in Europe teaching techniques for adjusting animals. Along the way, she has also gained several BHS examinations.

Helen is qualified, registered and fully insured to treat animals using the McTimoney Technique and Merishia Animal Massage. She mainly treats horses and dogs, but occasionally is asked to treat cats and will consider others. However, she is not qualified to treat human patients.
